The Road ........


She walks along the winding road so many turns,
not sure which way to go
She stops to see a familiar road
one she has been down so many times
before It leads to a place of
forbidden happiness and empty love


She walks down this road often
It takes away her loneliness
It is only temporary
She is afraid to take the other roads
for fear of what she might encounter


The uncertainty frightens her
Her heart is bruised
She smiles without true happiness
not quite sure what happiness really is


She wants so much to know
She wants to be able to feel again
The roads of life have been hard
She wonders where the other roads will lead
She hesitates
She struggles
She walks
She comes to the familiar road
and stops


She wants more than that road will bring her
She turns away from that road
and walks on

The never-ending circle
that surrounds us
Running through it
Slowing down


Sometimes missing the very thing
That makes us whole
We are all searching
We are all yearning
We are all needing
and wanting


So often we lose ourselves
And spend so much time trying
To find our way back


We get caught up in our own needs
We forget that which is important
The passions of our inner being
Our love
Stop
look around
and be still
Listen
hear
observe
