Reading Body Language is an interesting occupation. You will be fascinated to know the millions of body language that you and I have. In your day-to-day life, you hardly have time to focus on people's body language. Yet, if you give a bit of attention, you will know what a person is trying to say by reading their body language. You react differently at different times. Suppose you see a person who has crossed the arms, it can mean a lot of things. First of all, the person may seem arrogant and defensive. The person may be doubtful about you or may not have trust in you. It also says that the person does not want to speak to you. The person may be holding back something from you or is lying to you. The person may be protecting himself or herself from harsh words or just feeling cold.
There are many types of handshakes, which have different meanings. A confident person shakes his hand firmly, whereas a shy or nervous person handshakes limply.
When a woman is not moving her arms as she is walking, there is tension in her body, maybe something is on her mind. Anger and anxiety will often be at the root cause of this. If a woman walks slowly, assuming she is physically able, then it reflects that she lives in her own world while finding yours unimportant enough.
A liar can never look you straight in the eye. There is a persistent belief that people with shifty eyes are probably lying. But it is not foolproof as a liar may learn the trick of looking into your eyes easily. Putting your hands behind your back is a powerful gesture.
A person putting his or her hands in his pocket may mean that he or she is nervous, anxious or uncomfortable with the situation or hiding something from you. It can also mean that he or she is bored and uninterested. It gives the impression that the person is not confident.
